As we look forward to an exciting 2025, at last year’s Winter Leadership Conference in December, we co-hosted a timely panel with the Ethics and Professional Compensation Committee. Panelists Soneet Kapila (KapilaMukamal), Ginny Tate (FAI International) and Alicia Bendana (Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard), along with Moderator B. Summer Chandler (LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center), presented “Attorney Ethics in the Spotlight: What Can We Learn from Ethical Issues Raised in Recent High-Profile Cases?” Our highly qualified panelists provided an overview of recent high-profile cases, including those of FTX, Kenneth Chesebro, Rudy Giuliani and Judge David R. Jones, and discussed the ethical issues raised, including the limits of advocacy, responsibility of the profession, duty of candor and truthfulness, prohibition on assisting in criminal activity, and the duty to report professional misconduct.

Get Involved!
We invite our committee members to get involved and contribute to our success. To that end, we encourage you to write articles for our newsletters. Please contact Julia Di Fiore at jdifiore@reidcollins.com for more information.

Committee members can provide written analysis and commentary for our members via the listserv. We encourage our members to post updates regarding new cases and other issues to the listserv as well. Please contact Nate Palmer at npalmer@reidcollins.com or Christian Pereyda at cpereyda@maynardnexsen.com for more information if you have an update or commentary to post.

We also are looking for volunteers for leadership positions. We can certainly use someone willing to take over communications duties.
